NICK ANDREWS graduated in 1995 from New Mexico State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering. He has over 26 years of experience in heavy civil construction and civil engineering work in 24 states. He is a licensed professional civil, structural, and construction engineer in the states of New Mexico, Minnesota, Florida, Alabama, and Texas.
Nick worked for Peter Kiewit Sons’, the City of Las Cruces, along with several other private engineering and construction firms, as well as self-employed work in private consulting. Nick’s expertise in design work includes site civil, utility, roadway, and earthwork, structural, stormwater and drainage, exterior architectural, landscape, anti-terrorism/force protection, foundations, flag poles and billboards, and other miscellaneous designs for commercial, private, and DoD clients. He served twice on the City of Las Cruces Ratepayer Advisory Committee after an appointment by the Mayor of Las Cruces.
Nick’s experience includes a 22,000-mile nationwide fiber-optic network for Level 3 Communications project; E-470 Phase IV and the Northwest Parkway in Denver, both of which received awards for pavement excellence; and the Tampa I-4 widening project in Florida, with over 850,000 SF of MSE walls. His experience also includes numerous civil and building projects around Las Cruces, NM, as well as at White Sands Missile Range, Holloman Air Force Base, Cannon Air Force Base, Melrose Air Force Base, Kirtland Air Force Base, McGregor Range, Ft. Bliss, Yuma Proving Ground, MCAS-Yuma, various GSA properties in the El Paso Border region, the US Forest Service, and Los Alamos National Laboratory.
At HFS, Nick has performed design and construction management across 16 states, in Germany, and in Poland for the VA and USACE.
