JASON GONZALEZ JR. was born and raised in San Antonio, TX. He started working in the construction industry at the age of 16 while attending high school. He began as a low voltage cable technician doing retrofit projects for local colleges, hospitals, and schools. After graduating, he was introduced to the world of data centers as a low voltage lead; he worked on new construction projects, building large-scale data centers for Microsoft from the ground up.
Soon after, Jason started to pursue certifications within the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry to learn and develop skills on how to work on complex systems. First, he obtained his BICSI Technician certification in 2019. This certification allowed him to perform highly technical installations and diagnostic testing on structured cabling systems and network components in a professional manner in accordance with industry best practices. He was then promoted to a field supervisor who was primarily responsible for achieving overall job site productivity and ensuring high-quality work. In this position, he also learned basic project management methods to complete any task related to the installation and maintenance of a data center fiber infrastructure installations/projects.
In 2021, Jason decided to pursue his Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) credential. After 10 months of intense studying, he passed his RCDD exam on his first attempt in 2022. He is now a low voltage designer and has seven years of experience in the ICT industry.
