My Coolest Project:
For my senior capstone, I worked with a team of three to come up with an invention and fabricate an alpha prototype of this invention. This was a cool project because our imagination was the only limit to the possibilities. We decided to fabricate the first automatic robot banker for the board game “CATAN.” Since we wanted this robot to be fully automated in true mechanical engineering fashion, we worked to combine multiple engineering disciplines in designing our robot's structure, controls, and even mobile device app connectivity. Ultimately, we completed a robot for our board game nights while utilizing our engineering knowledge.

Assistant Project Manager

ANDRE TORRES, an Illinois Institute of Technology graduate with a Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering (2024), hails from San Antonio, Texas. His desire to understand the inner workings of structures more deeply and his eye for innovation led him to pursue a Mechanical Engineering degree. During his undergraduate years, Andre developed his interest in project management by getting various internship experiences in project management, construction management, and manufacturing roles in San Antonio, Washington D.C., and Chicago.

Following his third year, Andre furthered his education at Illinois Tech by enrolling in an accelerated master’s program that allowed him to earn both his undergraduate and graduate degrees in five years. After completing his education, he joined HFS as an Assistant Project Manager, eager to contribute to the architecture and engineering team.
