HFS served as the prime contractor on two Electronic Health Records Modernization (EHRM) Upgrades projects for the VA. These projects support the Cincinnati VA Medical Center (VAMC) in Cincinnati, OH; the Ft. Thomas VAMC in Ft. Thomas, KY; as well as the Truman VAMC in Columbia, MO.
The EHRM projects consist of the VA’s ongoing modernization, launching new electronic health record (EHR) systems. These upgrades allow the VA facilities to seamlessly store and track patient medical information, connecting over 60,000 health care partners. This provides quick, secure access to patient data from participating partners and health systems.
HFS provides improvements to electrical, infrastructure, bonding, UPS, and building management system interfaces, as well as the existing HVAC. The projects comprised of reconfiguration, expansion, and renovation of the existing space to support communication infrastructure. Work scope includes upgrades to physical security and fiber optic backbone infrastructure amongst all existing buildings. Additionally, the work scope includes the installation of diversified path to data center for wide area networks (WANs), and hazardous material abatement. Contracts include options for construction phase services. These services require submittal/shop drawing reviews, answering questions, issuing amendments, participating in site visits, and reviewing contractor proposals for additional work.
